Additional information for Design Studies applicants

You can choose to submit an optional portfolio with your application. Your portfolio is a chance to show your creative work, artistic skills, and design experience and can provide additional information for the UW–Madison admissions process.

Interior Architecture has a selective admission process with a sequence of Phase 1 and Phase 2 courses. Prospective students must complete Phase 1 courses to be eligible to apply for admission into Phase 2 of the program. Phase 2 is limited to 32 spaces and applications are accepted once a year in the spring semester.

Transfer students: Depending on your previous coursework and when you enter the program, you may need additional time to complete the Interior Architecture degree. We recommend that you contact us to discuss your individual path and timeline.

Once you enter Phase 2, you will need a computer that can run the necessary software.
